Born St Olave Southwark RD, Sept 1895 At 19 Cadbury Road Bermondsey, 1911 census with father Frederick a widower and sister Rose and brother William. Bertie shown as a messenger. At 21, Cadbury Road, Bermondsey, 1901 census with father Frederick, mother Annie, sisters Rose and Dorothy and brother William. We can trace Bertie ancestry back to Samuel Hagger born in Stebbing in Essex in about 1800 and he was married to Sarah Mead and they lived at Springfield near Chelmsford in Essex where some of the family continued to based into the 1900s.
