Francis William Hagger – Killed in action 01 Oct 1916, France & Flanders.   Rifleman London Regiment (Queen’s Westminster Riles) Service No 5500 Thiepval Memorial also Commemorated on Leytonstone War Memorial.  Awarded Victory & British War Medal

1/16th (County of London) Battalion (Queen Westminster Rifles) in 1916 were inolved in The divisionary attack at Gommecourt, The Battle of Ginchy, The Battle of Flers-Courcellette, The Battle of Morval, The Battle of th Transloy Ridges,

Son of William Herbert and Lydia Hagger, born in Hackney in 1890.  At time of 1901 census living with parents and siblings Lydia and Percy in Leytonstone as they were in 1911.

We can trace Francis family back to Therfield in Hertfordshire and John Hagger and his wife Rachel who had children baptised  from 1734 to 1744.
