Frederick was born in Piddington and lived at the public house in Church Road. He was the son of George and Maria and had one brother and seven sisters. His father was a Carrier, Publican and Coal Merchant and Frederick became a publican’s assistant. He married Ruth Ratledge on 13 th September 1900 at St John the Baptist Church in Blisworth. In 1901 he had moved to Kentish Town in London where he was a railway porter. By 1911 he had returned to live in Blisworth where he was a boot maker. He had two children, Stanley and Constance. Frederick was a member of the Royal Field Artillery and acted as an ammunition collector. He died on 30 th November 1917 aged 42 but we do not have further details. He is remembered at the Nine Elms British Cemetery in Belgium. Recently, he had descendants living in the Wellingborough and Kettering areas.
