Jabez Buckle Drake

Jabez was born in Yeadon, Yorkshire in 1887 and he married Minnie Anderson at Arthington St Peter in 1909. He had one daughter and a stepdaughter. In 1911 Jabez was a grocer’s waggoner in Otley, Yorkshire.

Jabez was a Private in the 7th Battalion of the East Yorkshire Regiment and he died 12 May 1917. His memorial is at Arras Memorial Bay 4 and 5.

His widow Minnie died in 1946.

Jabez stems from a Drake family in Leathley, Yorkshire in the 1841 census.
