Robert Reginald Drake

Story:

Reginald Robert Drake was born 13 Sep 1893 in Freshwater, Isle of Wight, the son of George Drake and Eliza Jane (formerly Merwood). George was a blacksmith.
Reginald’s grandparents were Robert Drake and Amelia (formerly Wells) who married in 1853 at the Wesleyan Chapel, Quay Street, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Early in 1916, Reginald married Agnes Freda Field Collins at Freshwater All Saints, Isle of Wight. Reginald was a carpenter.
Reginald was a Sapper in the Canadian Engineers, and died 10 Oct 1916, aged 33, and his grave is at St Sever Cemetery, Rouen (reference B 16 33).
There were no children of the marriage and his widow re-married in 1921 in England.
