William Herbert Ashley

1896 William Herbert Ashley, born 54 Beulah Road, Sutton, Surrey, was educated at Crown Road School, Sutton. Aged 14 in 1911, he worked as a junior clerk at a Fireworks factory. 1915 he was living 103 Thorpe Bank Road, Shepherds Bush, aged 18. Frank Arthur Hagger - Died 3 May 1917, Private Middlesex Regiment, Service Mo G/26975.  Commemorated on teh Arras Memorial, France.  Awarded Victory and British War medals. Bertie Pinnuck

Bertie Pinnuck was the fourth of nine children born to William Frederick and Clara Pinnuck. William, a labourer, died in 1909 aged 36. When war was declared in 1914, many men rushed to volunteer.
